Tree Removal Services provides professional tree removal, tree felling and sectional dismantling throughout Dundee, Angus and the surrounding areas.
From smaller garden trees to large, difficult or potentially dangerous trees, we can assess the safest and most practical way to carry out the work. Every job is considered individually, taking account of the tree’s size and condition, its surroundings, site access and any nearby buildings, roads, boundaries or services.

Professional Tree Felling and Removal
There are many reasons why a tree may need to be removed. It may be dead, diseased, damaged, unsafe, unsuitable for its location or causing problems for nearby buildings and gardens.
Our tree-removal service can assist with:
- dead, dying or diseased trees;
- storm-damaged or unstable trees;
- trees that have outgrown their location;
- trees close to buildings, fences and roads;
- trees affected by development or landscaping plans;
- single trees or larger site-clearance projects;
- large and complex dismantling work.
Where there is sufficient space, a tree may be felled from ground level. In tighter or more sensitive locations, it may need to be dismantled carefully in sections.
Large Tree Dismantling
Trees located close to houses, sheds, walls, roads or neighbouring properties cannot always be felled in one piece.
Sectional dismantling allows the tree to be removed gradually and in a controlled manner. Branches and sections of the main stem are taken down carefully to minimise the risk of damage to the surrounding area.
Large or difficult trees may require additional equipment or specialist support. Where necessary, we can liaise with trusted contractors, including groundworkers and operated plant providers, where heavy plant such as excavators is required.
We will assess the site and explain the proposed method before work begins.
Dangerous and Storm-Damaged Trees
A damaged or unstable tree can present a risk to people, property and access routes.
Warning signs may include:
- broken or hanging branches;
- significant storm damage;
- visible decay or cavities;
- a sudden or increasing lean;
- damaged or exposed roots;
- dead sections within the crown;
- cracking around major branches or the main stem.
Please avoid approaching or working beneath a tree that appears unsafe. Contact us so that the condition of the tree and the surrounding area can be assessed.

Stump Grinding
Tree removal usually leaves the stump and main roots in place. We also provide stump grinding in Dundee and surrounding areas, including work in restricted-access gardens. Narrow-access stump-grinding equipment may be suitable for back gardens and other areas reached through smaller gates or pathways.
Stump grinding can reduce the remaining stump below ground level, making the area easier to landscape, turf, replant or maintain.
Please let us know when requesting your quotation if you would also like the stump ground out.
Wood Chipping and Log Splitting
Branches and timber produced during tree removal can often be processed on site.
Our associated services include:
- wood chipping;
- log splitting;
- chipper hire with an operator.
Depending on the work and your preference, woodchip may be removed or left for use as mulch. Suitable timber may also be cut or split into manageable sections.
We will confirm what is included in your quotation before work begins.
What Happens to the Timber and Waste?
The handling of timber, branches and woodchip can be agreed as part of your quotation.
Depending on the job and your preference, material may be:
- removed from the site;
- chipped and left for use as mulch;
- cut into manageable sections;
- split into logs;
- retained as firewood where suitable.
Tractor and Loader Hire
Where suitable for the site and the work involved, tractor and loader hire with an experienced driver may also be available.
This can assist with moving timber, woodchip and other materials during larger tree-removal or clearance projects.
Please contact us to discuss access, ground conditions and the type of work required.
Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Areas
Some trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order or are located within a conservation area. Permission or formal notification may be required before work can begin.
The relevant checks should be made before protected trees are felled or significantly pruned. We can discuss this with you when assessing the work.
